The main purpose of the writing team is to guide the students throughout the year to improve their writing skills such that they can complete their academic writing tasks in their departments the following years. For this aim, process writing is used as an approach. There are two different systems for paragraph writing and essay writing.

Paragraph Writing:

There are 2 writing quizzes in one track meaning one quiz every three weeks. Students write 2 drafts; the first draft is written in class and the final draft is written at home based on teachers' feedback.

Essay Writing:

There are 2 writing quizzes in one track meaning one quiz every three weeks. Students write 3 drafts; the first draft is written in class, the second and final drafts are written at home based on teachers' feedback.  

Apart from in-class writing quizzes, students are also given some extra writing assignments throughout the academic year. For these extra assignments, the revising procedure is completed through peer check, self-check and instructor-guided check.
