Exam Regulations and Sample Exams

Exams
  • All exams include reading, listening, writing, speaking and use of English parts. The details about the exam schedule are shared on the website.
  • Reading:
    • 2 texts and questions
    • The timing depends on the level and the content of the exam.
  • Listening:
    • 2 texts and questions
    • The timing depends on the level and the content of the exam.
  • Writing:
    • 2 topics are given and the students choose one topic to write about.
    • Both of the writing topics are related to the reading texts in the same exam.
    • The timing depends on the level and the content.
  • Speaking:
    • Speaking part consists of 2 sections; in the first section, the students answer some general questions about themselves and daily life; in the second section, they receive a task to talk about for a short time.
    • There is no speaking part in the placement exam. The students who get 70 or higher in this exam are allowed to take the proficiency exam which has the speaking part.
    • The speaking exam for one student takes about 6-8 minutes on average.

 

Exam Regulations
  • Students are obligated to have an ID card with them during the exams.
  • During the exams, they cannot keep anything on or under the desks apart from a pen/pencil, an eraser and the exam paper. Only in the writing part, they can have an English-English dictionary.
  • It is forbidden to use a cell phone during the exams and cell phones cannot be put on or under the desks.
  • Any attempts or cases of cheating require disciplinary action. The details of the cheating policy can be found on the website.
